Rebecca, 38 – whose five-year-old son Joshua suffers from autism – had been waiting eight months for the council to give her the space.
She said: “I started asking for this last June. I don’t know why it took so long.
“I kept phoning and phoning but the only explanation I got was, ‘It’s because of the weather’. Then I came home from school and saw this. I thought it was some kind of a joke. I just couldn’t believe somebody could do that. But when I realised it was there to stay I wasn’t laughing.”
Full-time mum Rebecca, who also has a nine-year-old daughter, Sophie, said the workers just ignored the lamppost outside her home in Saffron Walden, Essex.
