After 9 years as a trustee for RiDC, I’m sadly stepping down because I’ve reached the maximum amount of time I can serve.
It’s been a privilege to be a RiDC trustee, and part of their vision to create a society that is accessible and inclusive for all, regardless of age or ability.
They are now looking for new trustees to join their Board.
For those of you who don’t know, RiDC (Research Institute for Disabled Consumers) is an independent research charity providing free, practical and unbiased consumer reports for older and disabled people, so they can choose the right options to meet their needs. They have a pan-disability consumer panel of over 4,000 members ensuring real-life experiences shape everything they do.
You don’t need any previous board or trustee experience to apply as training on the role of a charity trustee will be available. Your passion and commitment to help is much more important.
They are particularly interested in applicants with lived experience of disability, a long-term health condition or the challenges of ageing, so if that’s you or someone you think might be interested, please pass on the details.
You can find out more about the role and RiDC by following this link:

The closing date for applications is 5:00pm on Monday, 24th March 2025.
And if you do apply, good luck. It really is a great organisation to work for, and I will miss being involved.
