As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the projects, partnerships, and conversations that shaped our work this year and the lessons they continue to offer as we look ahead.
2025 Highlights
This year, we’ve greatly enjoyed working with Warner Bros and Sky TV, two leaders in the media sector who are committed to advancing accessibility and inclusion. We supported their TV Access Project work, helping to make the industry more accessible to disabled talent.
After nine years working with Hammersmith and Fulham Council on the new Civic Campus, Proudlock Associates is proud to see this landmark project nearing completion. The development brings together a revitalised town hall, modern workspace for staff, and a new council chamber designed with outstanding access, including the installation of Sesame Access Lifts. Throughout the process, we have worked closely and successfully alongside the team at RSHP (Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners).
A standout moment of the year was also the visit of Her Majesty The Queen to The Bottle Yard Studios, one of the projects Proudlock Associates was proud to support.
Team reflections
Tracey Proudlock –Founder & Director
Through trustee work with RIDC and Evenbreak, Tracey was struck by research showing that more than half of disabled shoppers leave stores early due to access barriers. This reinforced the importance of addressing everyday accessibility issues and engaging earlier in the design process to prevent exclusion before it happens.
“Even after decades of working in this field, the scale of everyday access barriers continues to surprise me — and it’s a reminder of why practical, early intervention matters so much.”
Liam Proudlock – Principal Inclusive Design & Access Consultant
Liam reflected on the strength of new talent entering the access profession this year, particularly the growing number of NRAC Consultants from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. He also highlighted the team’s ongoing work at Palace Gates Shopping Centre in Enfield Town, supporting the delivery of wheelchair-accessible and adaptable homes alongside improvements to the wider environment.
“The calibre and diversity of people entering access consultancy is incredibly encouraging — it shows how much appetite there is for meaningful inclusion work.”
Regina Bortoni – Inclusive Design Assistant
This year, Regina reflected on the importance of attention to detail when working on audits and reports within the built environment. Entering the field of accessibility has highlighted how even the smallest design decisions can determine whether a space is inclusive, reinforcing the responsibility that access consultants hold.
Looking ahead, Regina is motivated to push for deeper engagement with disabled people in decision-making processes, recognising that access consultancy cannot — and should not — be done in isolation, but must be shaped by those who experience barriers first-hand.
“Even the smallest decisions matter — and doing this work well means centring the people who live with these barriers every day.”
Kathryn Collinson – Communications Consultant
This year, Kathryn reflected on Proudlock Associates’ involvement in the TV Access Project (TAP), supporting studios across the UK to better understand and assess their access barriers. Delivering and attending training sessions at sites such as BBC Studioworks, Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, reinforced how engaged teams can be when given practical tools and clear guidance.
Seeing these conversations translate into tangible action highlighted how small, thoughtful changes can make a meaningful difference without requiring significant cost.
“It was fantastic to see how engaged teams were and how keen they were to explore practical ways of making buildings more accessible — often through small changes that don’t have to cost the earth.”
Looking ahead to 2026
In 2026, we look forward to celebrating both completed and upcoming projects. We plan to visit sites where work completed in 2025 or will complete in 2026, seeing our work in action and sharing these achievements with others.
We will also continue our work in the media sector, building on collaborations with industry-leading brands to help embed accessibility and inclusion more meaningfully across creative industries.
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone we worked with this year for the trust and shared commitment that shaped our work. We look forward to continuing these collaborations in 2026.
Warm wishes,
Proudlock Associates Team
